Nha Trang

Paradise City

Life's a beach - at least it is in Nha Trang, an exciting yet charming resort town on the south central coast of Vietnam. The town is surrounded by green hills, and its deep-blue bay is fringed with a glorious six-kilometre crescent of golden-white sand. It is this beach that lends Nha Trang its "picture-postcard" image, and it is this beach around which life in the town revolves.

Accommodation in Nha Trang is abundant, varied and often exceptional value for money for a premier beach destination, while facilities catering to MICE travellers are plentiful well established, especially at the Yasaka Saigon Hotel. In addition to representing an excellent choice for business meetings or conferences, Nha Trang offers plenty of diversions for groups looking to enjoy a spot of fun in the sun.

High quality restaurants are numerous in the town, with fresh seafood topping the list of cuisines available - choose from the wide selection of tasty fresh lobsters, crabs, prawns and more - although one can easily find western menus including great French, Italian and other European fare plus Chinese, Korean and Japanese menus.

Other activities tend to centre on water sports - Nha Trang is Vietnam's premier diving destination with daily dives and scuba courses run by several foreign-managed, PADI-certified dive operators. For less adventurous visitors the town offers a range of daily boat trips to the outlying islands, usually involving a pleasant seafood lunch and often plenty to drink on board.

Nearby attractions and places of interest include the historic Cham Towers on the outskirts of town, or take time out to visit the Fairy Spring and the Yang Bay Waterfall at the foot of mysterious Bac Ho mountain, around 30 km from Nha Trang.

Nightlife can also get pretty wild here - unlike most other tourist towns in Vietnam. However, it is really quite easy to slip away into the quiet night along the beach, relax against a palm tree and soothe away the stress of the working day while listening to the waves lapping the shore.

For all these reasons, Nha Trang is a "must do" on any visit to Vietnam.
